Stephen P. Hunckler, Chief Claims Operations Officer (CCOO)

Stephen P. Hunckler became State Fund’s Chief Claims Operations Officer, effective October 1, 2015. Hunckler brings to State Fund strong expertise in operational excellence, claim management, legal management, and customer service. He previously served as Senior Vice President at State Auto Insurance Companies, where he helped lead the transformation of the claims, loss control, premium audit, and call center operations. Hunckler also served in executive roles at Balboa Insurance Group, CNA Insurance Companies, and Travelers Property Casualty.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As Chief Claims Operations Officer, Hunckler establishes the vision, goals, and strategies for State Fund’s Claims operations. The CCOO works with the Regional Vice Presidents to ensure that all Claims operations are meeting performance and strategic goals and are in compliance with audit, regulatory, and legislative requirements. The CCOO also oversees the following operations: Corporate Claims (includes Operations and Regulatory Division, Medical Division, and Business Technology Division); State Contracts Services; Specialized Claims Operations, and Claims Legal.
