Established in 1914 by the state legislature, State Fund is California's most reliable provider of workers' compensation insurance and a vital asset to California businesses. State Fund supports California's entrepreneurial spirit and plays a stabilizing role in the economy by providing fairly priced workers' compensation insurance, helping California employers keep their workplaces safe, and restoring injured workers.

Angela D. Tate

Angela D. Tate was appointed by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. to State Fund’s Board of Directors in 2019.

Angela D. Tate has been principal at Burton and the Brains since 2018. She previously served eight years as the Chief Financial Officer for the California Democratic Party where she worked on developing complex, government-regulated campaign finance accounts, fundraising programs, and stakeholder groups.

Tate worked closely with Governor Brown on the successful campaigns of Prop. 30 in 2012, Prop. 1 and 2 in 2014, Prop. 57 in 2016, and the defeat of Prop. 53 in 2016.

She also served as finance director for California State Senator John Burton from 1998 to 2009.
