Rick Law became State Fund’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) in January of 2015. As COO, he oversees Field Operations, Corporate Marketing, Premium Audit, and the Customer Service Center. He also shares responsibility with the CEO for Safety and Health Services.
Rick has worked with State Fund since January 2013 as a consultant providing expertise and guidance to our Field Operations, Corporate Marketing, and Underwriting Departments, specifically in the areas of broker segmentation and management, group insurance, underwriting, and technology.
Prior to joining State Fund, Rick was president of Allstate Business Insurance, where had responsibility for profit/loss management, product/market strategy, business development, and talent management for the commercial insurance division.
Rick served as president of Zurich Small Business where he was responsible for a $1.5 Billion premium division of Zurich North America, which included providing commercial insurance products to small business owners as well as managing and distributing Zurich Insurance Services Builder’s Risk Program. He began his insurance career with The Hartford as an underwriter. For more than 20 years, he served in a variety of key positions at the Hartford, including Senior Vice President of Field Operations, Sales and Marketing, and Vice President and Director for the Risk Management Division, where he had division oversight for National/Major Accounts and Specialty Construction.
He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economics from John Hopkins University.
