State Fund Names Two New Executive Vice Presidents of Claims

San Francisco – Two managers at State Compensation Insurance Fund have been elevated to Executive Vice President positions.

California’s largest workers’ compensation carrier announced that Beatriz Sanchez was promoted to Executive Vice President of Regional Claims Operations, while Julie Jenkinson moved up to Executive Vice President of Corporate Claims.

Jenkinson joined State Fund in 1984. Sanchez, joined the carrier three years later.

Both have served extensively in several State Fund regional offices and claims operations.

Jenkinson rose from Assistant Claims Manager for State Fund’s San Bernardino district in 1989, to Regional Manager of the carrier’s Pleasanton-based Bay Area Claims Services in 2007. In between the San Bernardino and Pleasanton assignments, Jenkinson also served as Claims/Rehabilitation Medical Manager and Program Manager for State Fund’s Communications Center. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in French and business administration from the California State University in San Bernardino.

Sanchez’s first managerial stint was in 1992, as Assistant Claims Manager for the Los Angeles district office. She later moved up to become that district’s Claims Manager, and six years later was promoted to Senior Vice President of Southern Claims Operations, in charge of regional operations in Los Angeles/Tri-County, Inland Empire/San Diego, and Orange County. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in business management from the University of La Verne in southern California.

In her new role, Sanchez will ensure that all claims operations are meeting performance and strategic goals and in compliance with audit, regulatory, and legislative requirements. Jenkinson will oversee Claims/Rehab, Special Claims Operations, Claims Executive Special Projects, and the Medical Directors Office at State Fund.
