Governor Appoints Two New Members to State Fund Board

Governor Brown has announced two appointments to State Fund’s Board of Directors.

The new appointees are Robin Baker, 59, of Berkeley, and Marvin Kropke, 65, of Brea.

Baker has been director of research to practice at the University of California, Berkeley Center for Occupational and Environmental Health and at CPWR - The Center for Construction Research and Training since 2010. She was director at the University of California, Berkeley Labor Occupational Health Program from 1981 to 2010 and director at the Project on Health and Safety in Electronics, Santa Clara Center for Occupational Safety and Health from 1978 to 1981. Baker is a member of the American Federation of Teachers and the American Public Health Association. She earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She fills a vacant seat on the 11-member board.

Kropke has been business manager and financial secretary at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 11 since 1997. He has been a member of IBEW since 1979. Kropke serves as executive secretary at the California State Association of Electrical Workers and is co-chairman of Working Californians. He replaces Donald Garcia, whose term expired on January 15, 2013.

The next Board of Directors meeting will be May 15-17, 2013.
