State Compensation Insurance Fund Offers Extended Credit Terms for California Businesses Affected by the Valley and Butte Wildfires

San Francisco, CA — In the wake of recent and devastating Northern California wildfires, State Compensation Insurance Fund (State Fund) is moving to assist California policyholders who may have suffered losses to their business in the Valley and Butte fires.

State Fund is offering a 30-day credit extension to those experiencing business disruptions. State Fund policyholders who are experiencing wildfire-related impacts can call State Fund’s Customer Service Center number to request the extensions at (888) 782-8338 or through their insurance broker.

At least 5,496 wildfires have ignited so far this year in the state, according to Cal Fire, many of them small. The most destructive fire of the year so far is the 76,000 acres-burned Valley Fire in Lake County. The Valley Fire is the third most destructive fire in the state’s recorded history.

As seemingly random as wildfires may seem to be, residents can help protect their home or business using the safety zone concept and fire safe landscaping.
