To further their commitment to helping California employers keep their workplaces safe, State Fund launched an additional element of the successful Be their Hero safety culture campaign: Fall Prevention in the workplace.
Falls are one of the top three causes of all preventable injury-related deaths, and one of the top ten causes of non-fatal injuries. The new campaign provides fall prevention information with the intention of inspiring positive behavioral change. Target industries are those at higher-risk for falls—sheet metal, residential carpentry, and roofing.
Beginning in March, policyholders in those industries will receive a monthly Be their Hero email sharing important fall prevention information. The emails will also provide campaign materials like posters and flyers so employers can run their own campaigns.
