July 15, 2008

FRESNO/SAN FRANCISCO — State Compensation Insurance Fund is presenting a two-day “Office Ergonomics Workshop” as part of State Fund’s Employer Education Series. Offered at no charge to current State Fund policyholders only, the professional ergonomics sessions are scheduled for Thursday, July 31 through Friday, August 1, at State Fund’s District Office in Fresno, California. This workshop requires a full two-day commitment on the part of attendees.

Board Certified Industrial Ergonomists R.J. Banks and Kristy Schultz of State Fund will help attendees recognize poor ergonomic design and reduce ergonomic injuries at their office, so their employees can remain injury-free and be more productive. In addition, attendees will receive State Fund’s CD, “Ergonomics: How May We Help You?” with training on how to use it.

The location of this workshop is State Fund’s District Office at 10 River Park Place East, Fresno. On-site registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on July 31, and the first day of participation ends at 4:30 p.m. On August 1 the second day of participation begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. Both days include a complimentary continental breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks.

Seating is limited, so State Fund encourages early registration. Individuals must register separately, but they can expedite their registration online, by e-mail (mlflores@scif.com) or phone (call Monika Flores at 559-433-2688), or by faxing the completed registration form (Attention: Monika Flores, 559-433-2620).

The Fresno workshop is part of a series of educational programs State Fund is holding throughout the state to help employers create safe workplaces. State Fund has the largest safety and health services program among California workers’ compensation insurance carriers.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Headquartered in San Francisco, State Compensation Insurance Fund is California’s largest provider of workers’ compensation insurance with approximately 200,000 policyholders. Established by the Legislature in 1914, State Fund is a nonprofit, self-supporting, fairly competitive public enterprise that serves a dual role as both a market of choice and the safety net for California employers seeking workers’ compensation insurance.
