SAN PEDRO/MONTEREY PARK, CA --- State Compensation Insurance Fund has partnered with UCLA’s Labor Occupational Safety and Health (LOSH) program for a series of free workshops helping employers learn to identify and correct workplace hazards. A special session will be held during the workshops to address ergonomics as well.
The series kicks off with back-to-back events held June 23 in San Pedro and June 24 in Monterey Park.
Presentations will be given by both an Occupational Health Educator from LOSH and a State Fund Ergonomics Consultant.
Attendees should walk away with knowledge of how to find safety hazards and fix them, and also how to provide safety training to employees tailored to their businesses. In addition, they will gain a better understanding of ergonomics and how it can be applied to their safety programs.
Registration and complimentary breakfast begin at 8:30 a.m. on both days. The workshops will end at noon.
The San Pedro event is located at Simon’s Banquet Center, 1050 Nagoya Way. The workshop in Monterey Park takes place at the State Fund Monterey Park Regional Office, 900 Corporate Center Drive.
