History of ADR in California’s Workers’ Compensation System

As part of 1993 reforms to the workers’ compensation system, the California Legislature added Labor Code Section §3201.5, which became effective on July 16, 1993, and authorizes ADR programs for construction contractors.  Effective January 1, 2004, under Labor Code Section §3201.7, ADR programs were extended to all industries in California other than construction.
